  • …collect feedback and relevant information from the users of the Citizen Assistance Services and incorporate this information into our decision-making process?

    Winning start-up: Auona

The start-up Auona won the challenge by designing a solution that consisted of a complete system for sending different types of surveys, which can be sent to the public automatically, or on a scheduled basis, using a simple, everyday channel like WhatsApp. Sometimes the ideas that seem the simplest are the ones that best meet needs.

  • …help promote the use of the Basque language at entities, associations, and federations located in Biscay when they’re in contact with the public?

    Winning start-up: Trebe

The start-up Trebe won the challenge by offering a translation, transcription, and speech synthesis system in Basque. They started with translation technology that they already had available, and proposed new customized prototypes like a browser plugin, a plugin to facilitate translation integration into the main email programs, and a Windows plugin to help with the translation of formatted documents from the browser itself. In addition, their voice app converts oral translations into text, and vice versa.

Translation work is evolving and is increasingly integrated into technology to provide us with intuitive and usable solutions in our daily lives.

  • …foster a culture of shared knowledge and work to help in the process of adopting new technological tools at the Government of Biscay?

    Winning start-up: Vidext

The start-up Vidext won the challenge by understanding the public’s preferences: 82% of Internet traffic is in video format. With this revealing insight, they understood that they needed to democratize audiovisual and interactive content in video format because it’s more memorable, effective, and attractive than traditional PowerPoint presentations. Then they proposed their technological solution: a piece of software capable of creating videos from text, thus turning classic PowerPoint presentations into interactive videos in different languages – and even with different avatars.

Sometimes a small but significant piece of information makes our imagination soar and allows us to find the perfect solution to a problem.
