Next 21 March, the Nagusi Intelligence Center – NIC will present its 8th special report by the Surveillance and Competitive Intelligence Service (SVIC) entitled "Mental health among the elderly, the first of 2024.
Health is key to overall well-being, including physical, mental, and social health. Addressing mental health among the elderly is essential, particularly with a growing population of older individuals. This involves understanding the challenges they face; situations such as dementia, Alzheimer's, anxiety, depression, stress, addiction, and risk of suicide.
To present the special report, we will be supported by the expert perspective of Saluta startup CEO Mauricio Bonilla, a doctor specialised in Public Health. Mental health is not only defined by the absence of disease, but also as a state of well-being that allows individuals to develop their skills, tackle stress, and contribute to the community. For this reason, we must promote mental health as a fundamental right, investing in service and prevention programmes and creating healthy environments in all areas of life.
We will end the session with our usual working dynamics.
