Nagusi Intelligence Center (NIC) is a public–private collaboration ecosystem driven by the Provincial Council of Bizkaia that brings together institutions, businesses, universities, and citizens to turn the challenges of longevity into genuine opportunities for development.

Bizkaia Observatory on Longevity and Care (OLC)

A tool provided by the Provincial Council of Bizkaia to understand how Bizkaia’s demographics are changing, anticipate future trends, make sense of them and improve public policies relating to longevity.

The Bizkaia Observatory on Longevity and Care was established to understand and anticipate this change; it is a body that analyses, evaluates and disseminates knowledge relating to increased longevity and the emerging needs it brings.

How do we do this?

  • We monitor Bizkaia’s demographic indicators in real time.
  • We analyse how the needs of older people are changing.
  • We anticipate scenarios so that policies can be put in place before problems arise.
  • And finally, we share this knowledge with professionals, public officials and the general public through reports, visualisation tools and training programmes.
