Quantum Sensing: Innovation Serving Science and Industry

#Pure tech

Quantum sensing is one of the various second-generation quantum technologies currently under development. Based on the principles of quantum mechanics, this technology allows for the detection and measurement of signals from diverse phenomena. Unlike conventional sensors, quantum sensors can detect extremely faint signals, enabling a new range of applications. This advancement could significantly expand the range of non-invasive measurements, which is of great interest in fields such as medical diagnostics. Similarly, the increased sensitivity of these devices finds applications in areas like navigation and geophysics.
