A tree needs 80 years to offset one ton of CO2. And a cement plant generates approximately 400,000 tons of CO2 in a year. There isn’t even enough land in the world to plant that many trees. How are we supposed to eliminate polluting emissions under these circumstances? The first step is to take an optimistic approach: stop talking about a challenge and start talking about an opportunity.
