- Option 2:
Right-click on a link and choose the Open Link in New Private Window option.
Chrome
- Option 1:
- Click on the Chrome menu icon located in the upper right-hand corner of the browser window.
- Select New Incognito Window
- Option 2:
Right-click on a link and choose the Open link in incognito window option.
Safari
1. Click on the Safari menu and select the private browsing option
2. Confirm the start of private browsing.
Deleting the browsing history
Another system to prevent information on the websites you have visited from remaining on your computer is to delete the browsing history. In order to delete the browsing history, follow these steps:
Microsoft Edge
1. In the Microsoft Edge menu bar, click on the Settings option. A dropdown menu will appear.
2. Click on the Delete browsing history option.
3. Check the boxes of the information categories you want to delete.
4. Select the Keep data from favourite websites checkbox to keep the cookies and files associated with the websites on your Favourites list.
5. Click on the Delete button.
Firefox
1. Click on the Firefox menu icon located in the upper right-hand corner of the browser window.
2. Select History. Another dropdown menu will appear.
3. Select Clear recent history. A window will open.
4. Check the boxes of all the data you want to delete, including the Browsing history and downloads box.
5. Click on the Accept button
Chrome
1. Click on the Chrome menu icon located in the upper right-hand corner of the browser window.
2. Click on History, a new window will open.
3. Click on Clear browsing data, a dialog box will appear with different options. To delete all the browsing history, select All time in the dropdown menu. And check the boxes of all the data you want Chrome to delete, including the Browsing history box.
4. Click on the Clear browsing data button.
Safari
1. Click on the Edit tab
2. Select the Preferences option.
3. Click on General and right click on Clear history items
