This course has been designed to strengthen leadership skills and support the implementation of the WHO’s upcoming European Strategy “Ageing is Living” (2026-2030), which focuses on four interconnected areas of action: prevention for lifelong health, creating environments that facilitate healthy ageing, transforming care systems and combating ageism.

The course has been developed and is organised jointly by the WHO Regional Office for Europe, the Nagusi Intelligence Centre of the Bizkaia Provincial Council and the WHO/Europe Health Systems Division. It will be delivered in person, in English, and will welcome up to 40 participants from across the region.

Observations

  • Format: In-person.
  • Qualification: a certificate of participation will be awarded.
  • Deadline for applications: 16 February 2026.
  • Target group: The course is designed for professionals responsible for developing or implementing policies and programmes on healthy ageing and long-term care. This includes, among others, the health, social care, housing, transport, urban planning, education, communication, digital health and technology sectors.
