What is it?

A periodical economic subsidy aimed at covering the needs and facilitating the social integration of those people who are in a position of vulnerability or social exclusion and in need of economic support in order to successfully complete a social integration process.

It is granted for the benefit of the applicant.

Who is eligible?

To be eligible for the Special Integration Aid, in its Individual Aid type, the following requirements must be met:

  1. Applicants must be in a position of vulnerability or social exclusion.
  2. Applicants must be 18 years old or over, and under 65 years of age.
  3. Applicants must be residents of Bizkaia, and must have been so for at least 6 months prior to the application date.
  4. Applicants must have insufficient financial means of their own to care for their basic needs or to avoid their social uprooting, according to the following conditions:
    • Applicants’ monthly income must be equal to or below the amount of the current monthly statutory minimum wage.
    • The per capita income of the cohabitation unit must be equal to or below 50% of the current per capita income in the Autonomous Community.
    • The total assets of the family nucleus must be below 4 times the maximum amount of the current Basic Income Benefit, depending on the total number of unit members.
  5. Applicants must have joined and follow an "Individual intervention plan" aimed at facilitating their social integration.

Where to apply?

Applications must be submitted by the beneficiaries or by their legal representatives, and lodged with the General Social Services Office at the Town Hall on whose census the applicant is registered.

Who grants or denies the benefit?

The benefit is granted or denied by the Regional Government of Bizkaia, according to whether the entitlement requirements are met or not.

For how long is it granted?

The Special Integration Aid, in its Individual type, is granted for a period of 12 months, or for shorter periods depending on particular cases. It can be renewed when the reasons that led to it being granted persist, entitlement requirements continue, and budget allowances permit it.

Monthly amount of the Aid

The maximum applicable amount of the aid will be 162.27 euros per month, 12 months a year.
