At NIC – Nagusi Intelligence Centre, we are organising our 2nd Thematic Event, bringing together the former NIC talks with the presentation of specialised reports. The event will take place on 20 March, from 9:30 to 12:15, during which we will present our 12th specialised report on: Functional autonomy in ageing.
Regular physical activity and rehabilitation are essential for maintaining functional abilities, preventing chronic diseases, improving quality of life and promoting social integration. Innovative technologies are transforming the care and daily lives of older people, facilitating early detection, greater autonomy and active participation in society.
We will explore these areas in greater depth thanks to expert presentations by Jon Irazusta, Professor of Physiology at University of the Basque Country and Begoña Sanz, Associate Professor of Physiology at University of the Basque Country. Both are members of the AgeingOn Research Group, which focuses on physical exercise, health and quality of life in vulnerable populations. We will also present the specialised report Functional Autonomy in Ageing.
After the presentations, we will hold a round table discussion on this topic, moderated by Joan Barrubes from Antares Consulting, with the participation of:
- Jon Irazusta. Professor of Physiology at University of the Basque Country.
- Begoña Sanz. Associate Professor of Physiology at University of the Basque Country.
- Gemma Iraurgui. CEO of Eraberri Fisioterapia.
- Mikel Urbano. Project Coordinator at Mugikon.
After the coffee break, as usual there will be a working session with the participants.
We look forward to seeing you!
